What is the NeuroCore Anti-Aging Program?
06 February 2010
The ultimate silent disease, in the elderly, is the non-optimal functioning of the brain. It is a well known tenet in anti-aging literature that cognitive health in old age goes hand-in-hand with physical health. The normal aging process causes the nervous system to slow down and become dysregulated. In the elderly, Neurological Dysregulation Syndrome is expressed in the form of cognitive deficits such as memory loss; however this dysregulation goes beyond memory loss in that it involves every biological function in the body. Once that is recognized, maintaining brain function becomes a principal and indispensable pathway to health maintenance in the elderly as well as to enhanced functionality along the way. NeuroCore Therapy will enhance memory, improve sleeping patterns and provide a proven vehicle for maintaining neurological performance at an optimal level at any age.
What is the NeuroCore Peak Performance Program?
06 February 2010
Peak Performance is defined simply as functioning at your best. Whether it is academics, sports or business, the definition remains the same. The golfer that wants to improve his/her game, the child that wants to excel in school or the business person that wants to climb the corporate ladder can all benefit from NeuroCore Therapy. Performing at your best starts with your brain. When your brain is properly regulated and producing appropriate brainwave patterns, then your mind and body operate optimally - Golfers report improved golf scores, parents say that their children are getting better grades and business people are excelling in the corporate world.
What is the NeuroCore Weight Loss Program?
06 February 2010
Through the years, many of us have been led to believe that our weight problem is about two things: calorie counting and mental toughness. When it comes to dieting, trying to lose weight with willpower is the equivalent to holding your breath underwater – you can do it for a while but no matter how psyched up you get, at some point your body forces you to the surface gasping for air. The NeuroCore Weight Loss Program eliminates the “willpower” aspect of dieting. The program involves a combination of diet modification, customized exercise and most importantly a normalization of brainwave activity. The NeuroCore Weight Loss Program is the only program that addresses the mental aspect of eating. When the nervous system is properly regulated – producing appropriate brain waves at the appropriate times – then willpower is no longer an issue!
Do neurofeedback and medications do the same thing?
06 February 2010
No. Medications have an advantage in that they act immediately. They can be very useful and helpful to control disruptive behaviors, however their effect only lasts as long as there is a sufficient dosage level in the bloodstream. Dr. Swanson's team at the University of California, Irvine, summarized their usefulness He stated that they provided a short term benefit for the management of behavioral symptoms of inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. He also stated that they did not demonstrate long-term benefits on learning, achievement, or social adjustment". In addition the dangerous side effects of these medications has been well documented. Neurofeedback takes longer to produce beneficial changes but appears to give long term benefits in all the key areas of attention span, impulse control, academic achievement and social adjustment.

How long does a treatment session last, how many treatment sessions will I need and are the changes permanent?
06 February 2010
A typical treatment session lasts about 30 minutes and the typical patient usually requires 20 sessions. The changes are permanent! Once the patient’s brain learns how and when to produce a certain brainwave; that ability becomes embedded in a permanent circuit within the brain. The formation of this new circuitry is referred to as Neuroplasticity and is the theoretical basis for how we learn.
Are there any side effects? Does the treatments hurt?
06 February 2010
Many people state that the greatest appeal to this type of therapy is the fact that it is holistic and completely non-invasive. In addition, there have been no negative side effects reported since its introduction 40 years ago. Nor are there any contraindications to the therapy. The treatments are completely painless – there is no puncturing of the skin or application of electric current. The sensors are simply reading the brainwaves.
How does it work?
06 February 2010
NeuroCore Therapy is a form of neurofeedback that allows the nervous system to retrain itself to create new, more appropriate wave patterns and break the cycle of Neuological Dysregulation Syndrome (DNS). Though the NeuroCore technology is quite complex, the training activity is simple, painless, drugless and non-invasive. Surface electrodes are placed on the scalp and EEG activity is transmitted to the computer screen. Visual feedback of the patient’s brainwaves in the form of an animated game such as Pac Man, or a movie is provided instantly. The animated game or a movie only plays when the patient is producing the correct brainwave. If the patient’s brain stops producing the desired brain wave the game or the movie, stop playing. As the nervous system reorganizes itself based on this instantaneous information, the patterns begin to normalize. Over the course of 10 to 20 training sessions, the brain modifies itself to begin producing the appropriate brain waves at the appropriate times resulting in an alleviation of the symptoms.
How do children and adults benefit from NeuroCore Therapy?
06 February 2010
NeuroCore Therapy has been proven to increase the ability to pay attention, focus and concentrate. Research studies have demonstrated that children that have completed the therapy have also shown significant improvements in classroom performance. Dr. Joel Lubar, PhD. from the University of Tennessee reported that 80% of the 250 children participating in the study demonstrated grade point average improvements of 1.5 levels. IQ scores were also significantly improved. To download these studies please CLICK HERE
